Salvation belongs to God because salvation is impossible for mankind to achieve. We are desperately sick, thoroughly corrupted by the Fall. We are entirely at the mercy of God who knows how desperately sick we truly are and who owes us nothing. We cannot deserve grace, but the grace of God is the only hope we have to find healing for our sin-sick soul.
