To become a Christian, a person needs to be converted. They need not only to be saved from the judgment of God, but also from boredom with God. They need to find God more compelling than the enticements of sin. Only God can effect this kind of conversion in a person, and when he does it, the convert comes to God willingly in repentance and faith.
