The Missionary Heart of God

What comes to mind when you think of missions? Far away places, exotic customs, gospel poverty, a short term trip to serve the needy? Maybe for you, mission feels a bit like a burden, something good, something that should be done, but overwhelming.  Whatever comes to mind, what is essential is that we understand mission from God's Word. That will be what will keep us on track in our mission, and it will also be what provides the greatest motivation. When we look at God's Word we find that mission flows out of God's heart, and it's his love that will change mission from an uncomfortable responsibility into a joy.
