God has always desired to dwell among his people, but because of sin, there had to be a barrier in place to prevent the people from perishing in God's presence. Details for how God could be approached were set in place, but the problem of sin was never fully dealt with. Through the ministry of Jesus, that problem has been resolved, the barrier has been removed, and God's people are now able to worship him as we were always meant to do.
