Scripture: Leviticus 9:22–24, Leviticus 10:1–3
The sacrifices in which God had commanded his people to participate required a formal priesthood in order to carry out this form of worship. Organized religion requires qualified leaders who can lead God's people into a genuine encounter with God. But the blessing of the divine encounter only comes with a proper respect and concern for the holiness of God.
