Scripture: Romans 13:1–7
The resurrection of Jesus indicated the arrival of the kingdom of God on earth. Surprisingly, God did not remove human civil authority but ordained it as a means of maintaining order in his world while the church's work of gospel proclamation is carried out to the nations. Christians are commanded to submit to civil authority who function as servants of God, giving them exactly what they deserve in this role they are called to fulfill.
