Central to biblical teaching is the importance of Jesus's death on the cross. When death occurs, there are significant effects, and this is especially true when it is a significant person who dies. As our High Priest, the death of Jesus as a voluntary sacrifice has put away sin once for all and makes us eager to see him appear once again.
