God's Purpose of Election

November 18, 2018 Speaker: Ben Janssen Series: Doctrines of Grace

Scripture: Romans 9:6–29

The Bible uses the word elect to refer to those God has chosen to be his people. In this identity we see that it is God's good and free pleasure that distinguishes between the elect and the non-elect. While this may raise questions about the justice of God, it also demonstrates that salvation comes only at the mercy of a sovereign God. And the mercy of God is what can humble the heart of rebels and bring them to joyful praise and thanksgiving.
