Gospel Affections
August 12, 2018 Speaker: Ben Janssen Series: Crosstown Basics
Scripture: Luke 7:36– 8:3
During a banquet at the home of a Pharisee, all eyes became fixed on a certain notorious woman and her over-the-top affection for Jesus. This awkward moment was the setting for one of Jesus's shortest but most powerful parables, which both explained the woman's actions as well as uncovered the pride of the Pharisee's heart. The gospel is news that stirs up our deepest affections, either in overwhelming love for Jesus or in the realization that we have a debt of sin we have ignored far too long.
