David's longest psalm is recorded at the end of 2 Samuel in celebration of all that God meant to David. Not only did God rescue him from many distressing situations, but David also recongized that God had not done so reluctantly. God's delight in his anointed king compelled him to act in the king's favor, and increased the king's confidence that God would always remain true to him forever.
