Finally, David has taken his rightful place as king over Israel, and the Lord has been given his rightful glory as Israel's God. Eager to protect God's fame, David seeks to build a more permanent place of worship, a house for God to live in. But God has already been building his house in David, Israel's anointed king. And God's faithfulness to this work will maximize his glory as God establishes an eternal kingdom of grace through David's descendants.
