The parable of the Good Samaritan doesn't answer the question "Who is my neighbor?" but rather presents us with a more important question: "To whom will you be a neighbor?" Jesus challenges us to consider that anyone in need or suffering injustice deserves our attention and neighborliness. Only when we begin to take up the responsibility to address racial inequality and injustice, are we in a position to actually understand the seriousness of the problem and to invest our lives in working to solve it.
