The first fruit of the Spirit is love, a quality that describes God's own essence and nature. God has made love possible by first evidencing his love to us in the sending of his Son to atone for our sins. We abide in his love by believing this apostolic witness concerning Jesus. In this way we ourselves will become lovers like God, confident and fearless before him as we express this love to one another.
