Genesis Part 4: Joseph and the Dream for the World

Joseph was Jacob’s favorite son, which also made him the target of his brothers’ jealousies. Joseph’s brothers sold him into slavery, and Joseph ended up in Egypt, but God had a plan. Joseph’s unique gifts, which often were the cause of his own struggles, marked him as one chosen by God for a special service. Joseph’s dream of his own exaltation would not be for his benefit alone–it would be a dream of how God intended to bless the whole world through Joseph and his family, just as he had promised to Abraham.
