Malachi • God's Messenger Through the Centuries
Malachi 1:1-5

This sermon is the beginning of our series on Malachi. After an introduction to the book, we take a look at God’s declaration of love to His chosen people through the destruction of another nation. We also learn how the sovereignty of God brings Him praise both through those He chooses and those He rejects.

Malachi • God's Messenger Through the Centuries

Series Description

Malachi is the final book in the Old Testament and was the final prophetic voice of God until John the Baptist came some 400 years later. Malachi’s prophecy was given to the nation of Israel following their return home after a 70 year captivity in Babylon. Hopes for a return to pre-captivity prosperity were not panning out, however, and God sent Malachi to inform the people of his unceasing love for them. But he also pointed out the real source of Israel’s problems and the real solution to the sin that continued to plague them, and it is this message from God that continues to be proclaimed to us down through the centuries.
